Clint stone

Clint Stone is a studio artist, working and teaching at various colleges in the Greater Houston Area.  He received his MFA at Texas Tech University in 2010, actively participates in national and international solo, group, and juried exhibitions.  His work has been published in various art books and magazines such as the national publication New American Paintings. The visible artistic process and immediacy in his work is inspired by the vast openness of rural areas, large metropolises and active cities of the southwest region.  From on-site plein air painting, to work in and outside of his studio, he observes and absorbs the landscape, movement, light, space, and other transformations taking place around him.  These changes within the landscape are similar to his artistic process.  An amalgamation of experience, memory and observation, realized through the application of additive and subtractive marks on the surface of his paintings.  His artwork gives him a heightened sense of his surroundings and a deeper understanding of self.
